SIL certification is a third-party evaluation, verification, and certification of the safety integrity level (SIL) or performance level (PL) of safety equipment based on standards such as IEC 61508 (GB/T 20438), IEC 61511 (GB/T 21109), IEC 61513, IEC 13849-1, IEC 62061, and IEC 61800-5-2. Functional safety certification is often referred to as SIL certification. Functional safety certification mainly involves document management (FSM) evaluation for the development process of safety equipment, hardware reliability calculation and evaluation, software evaluation, environmental testing, EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing, and other contents.　

The SIL technical standard was first issued and formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and is implemented under the jurisdiction of IEC/TC65.

SIL (Safety Integrity Level) - Safety Integrity Level. SIL certification is divided into four levels, SIL1、SIL2、SIL3、SIL4， This includes two levels: product and system. Among them, SIL4 has the highest requirements. 

2、 The significance of SIL certification:

3、 The product scope of SIL certification:

Functional safety certification applies to all devices used to implement process control safety functions, mainly divided into safety components and safety systems, such as:

1. Safety components: on-site sensors, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters, level switches, programmable controllers, logic solvers, on-site safety actuators (pneumatic/hydraulic/electric), safety switches, safety valves, solenoid valves, block valves, solenoid valves, safety isolation barriers, etc.

2. Security system category: SIS (Safety Instrumented System), ESD (Emergency Shutdown System), Instrument Protection System (IPS), Combustion Management System (BMS), F&G (Fire and Gas Protection System), HIPPS (High Pressure Pipeline Protection System), PSD (Process Shutdown System).

3. Other electronic/electrical/programmable electronic products with safety requirements. 

4、 Basic process of SIL certification

1. The customer provides product information (product manual) and SIL level to Zhongnuo Testing for preliminary evaluation and quotation

2. The customer accepts the quotation and confirms the SIL certification project

3. Zhongnuo Testing dispatches engineers to the factory to assist in improving product drawing design to meet SIL level requirements

4. Make samples based on the improved drawings and commission Zhongnuo Testing Laboratory to conduct testing

5. After passing the test, issue a Functional Safety Report (FSA Report)

6. On site evaluation

7. Qualified review and issuance of SIL certificate
